Dr Abigail Methley
Name: Abi Methley
Profession: HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist
HCPC Registration Number: PYL34737
Abi initially worked as a researcher investigating experiences of, and access to, health care services, before training as a Clinical Psychologist.
Her work aims to help people make sense of their experiences, increase their confidence and hope for the future, and find ways to build a life that includes the things most important to them.
She has supported autistic children, young people, and adults through both diagnostic assessments and psychological therapy since 2018.
She really enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to fully understand peoples’ needs and find the best practical support options for them. She specialises in supporting people with physical health conditions and trauma.
She is passionate about understanding the role of cognitive processes such as executive functioning in people’s everyday lives. To provide the best possible support around this, she has recently completed further training in cognitive neuropsychology (understanding how the brain and behaviour are linked and the best ways of maximising strengths and supporting cognitive challenges).
